My friend, Joe Messina of The Real Side, asked a great question. “If Liberals hate religious fanaticism so much, why do they always side with the Islamic terrorists?”
Ayn Rand rightly recognized that “there are no contradictions.” “I you think you’ve found a contradiction, you must question your SUPPOSITION.” Joe’s “error” is in supposing that the Modern Liberal hates religious fanaticism. He doesn’t. He hates Western Civilization and first and foremost its two greatest success stories: America and Israel — the Christians and the Jews. The Modern Liberal only uses the fig leaf of being against religious fanaticism as an excuse to target Western values and the Judeo-Christian belief system. Since the Muslims are NON-Western, their violence is appreciated in the way one appreciates the enemy of one’s enemy as being their “friend.”
